“Heart Speaks unto Heart” – Healing Prayer CircleJan 27th, 2011 | By simone | Category: Healing Prayer Circle
The Healing Prayer Circle meets once a week on Thursdays at 7pm in St Joseph’s Chapel.
Our group started meeting in the summer of 2010, a group of us wanted to show our love and support to a member of the parish who was affected by cancer. Over the summer the group grew and members brought their own prays and intentions. It has become our parish Healing Prayer Circle where ‘Heart speaks unto Heart’, anyone is welcome to join us as we pray for the health and healing of people close to us.
Prayer of Cardinal Newman
Dear Jesus, help me to spread your fragrance everywhere I go.
Flood my soul with your Spirit and Life.
Penetrate and possess my whoie being so utterly that my life may only be a radiance of yours
shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel your presence in my soul.
Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus!
Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine,
So to shine as to be a light to others.
The light, o Jesus, wiil be all from you; none of it will be mine. It will be you, shining on others through me.
Let me Thus praise you in the way which you love best, by shining on those around me.
Let me preach you without preaching, not by my words but by my example, by the catching force,
the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears for you.
Prayer to Saint Peregrine (Patron of Cancer Patients)
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,”
because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being,
and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more.
You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction.
Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God,
now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Intentions can be left here and members of the circle will add the names to our prayers.
